CUBA is a Beneteau Oceanis Clipper 461 built in France in 2000.

She had been sailing around the Med until we bought her in 2018.

Before we found her, we had already spent around 6 years researching

different boat models and manufacturers and ultimately always came back to this specific model.

For us it was important that she had a large platform to easily access her with gear and dive tanks. Enough space for our three furry crew members and that she was built rock solid, so she can take us more or less anywhere, safely and comfortably.

She has a bulb-keel that looks a little like a torpedo, extra thick standing

rigging and a wide beam that earned her the nickname, the Tank or la Guagua! 😀

After just 8 months living on CUBA she already helped us tackle some of modern life’s challenges!

We moved onto Cuba and into Gibraltar Marina in November 2018, when just 10 Months later (we were  basically still moving in) Kiki’s employer decided to move to Malta.

So we did not pack our bags but cast the lines, set sail East and took her through an 18 day test ride, and what a ride it was!
